Artist's Statement:

I have always been interested in color and form studies, as well as pattern, mostly working in the representational realm of still life and landscapes painted "on site", both in oil and watercolor.

Recently, I have extended this inquiry to ceramic objects. This has opened up an additional opportunity for exploring pattern and decoration, and has led to a different approach to making images.

    

The stenciled panels I am currently working on have grown out of some of the designs recently discovered from my ceramic pieces. Fine oil pigments, blended with transparent medium are layered on wood panels.

A lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas, I have a BFA and MFA from Southern Methodist University, concentrating in painting, printmaking and drawing.
